Chinese Grammars.

1: “行” All right
” is used to express agreement, e.g.

A: Let's go by bus.
B: That's ok.


2: The progression of an act: 在/正/正在 + v. + object
When a verb is preceded by adverbs “”, “正在”, or “”, or when the particle “” is added at the end of the sentence, it signifies that an act is in progress. “在”, “正在” and “正” can be used simultaneously with “呢”.
“正” emphasizes the fact that an act is in progress, in correspondence with a specific time.
“在” emphasizes the state of an act in progress.
“正在” emphasizes both.
For example:
A: 麦克 正在 什么
B: 正在 电视
A: What is Mike doing?
B: He is watching TV.

A: 什么
B: 录音
A: Hello, what are you doing?
B: I'm listening to the tape.

A: 他们 什么
B: 他们 上课
A: What are they doing?
B: They are having classes.


The negative form is “
没有” or “” + verb + object
A: 是不是 音乐
B: 没有 音乐 课文 录音
A: Are you listening to music?
B: I'm not listening to music. I'm listening to the tape recording of the text.

A: 他们 上课
B: 他们 上课
A: Are they having a class?
B: They are not having a class?


Note::
Some verb cannot collocate with “正”, “在” and “正在”.
These verbs are “
认识”, etc.

3: The Interrogative Pronoun “多”
The interrogative pronoun “” is used before an adjective, asking about the degree of something. A specific quantity should be given to answer the question.
For example:
Subject + 多 + Adj

How old are you?
大卫
How tall is David?

How tall is he?
A:
B: 十六
A: How old are you?
B: I am sixteen years old.

A: 王老师 儿子
B: 儿子 一米七
A: How tall is Mr. Wang's son?
B: His son is one meter seven.

A:
B: 一米八
A: How tall is he?
B: It's about one meter eight.
